Longo’s is a family-owned chain of 24 retail grocery stores with a cornerstone reputation for fresh produce. Founded in 1956, it now employs over 4,200 staff in the Greater Toronto area and has been selected as one of Canada’s Top 50 privately managed companies by the Financial Post for nine consecutive years. From their new corporate head office and state-of-the-art warehouse in Vaughan, Longo’s is currently managing a period of rapid growth and change.
In late 2010, Crozier & Associates joined the Longo’s Development team to lead site engineering design for their new 50,000 sq. ft. “signature” store in Milton. Crozier & Associates worked with the development team to create a comprehensive servicing and stormwater management strategy within the existing commercial Maple Avenue, Rio Can Centre.
Crozier & Associates was able to grade the site within tight constraints of the built-out commercial park, re-use existing water and sanitary services and provide full quantity and quality controls for site run-off using existing on-site stormwater management systems. The project was constructed in the spring of 2011 and opened for business in August, 2011.
Our firm has continued to work with the Longo’s team on subsequent projects and retrofits in Oakville and Mississauga.Print This Post | Back to Case Stories
